Nah Nah Nano Poblano, Me My Mo Mano

yeah write, nablopomo, November is just around the corner and I’m gearing up for a month of daily blog posting.

I’ll be linking up to BlogHer (for presence), YeahWrite (for focus), and here with some fellow bloggers (for support).  My “fellow bloggers” team needs a name, too, so I’ve decided to call us what I accidentally call NaBloPoMo all the time– Nano Poblano!

BlogHer provides weekday prompts, I think– but just in case,  I’ve made a quick little list of possible posts.   Most of these ideas I’ve seen elsewhere, or borrowed from my mom’s endless bank of questions for children.  I decided to share them here because it occurs to me that others might want to borrow from the list– for NaBloPoMo, or maybe just for any normal day.  Take what you need, there’s no need to link back.

Do you have a prompt you’d like to see me tackle?  Just let me know and I’ll add it to the list!

  1. Gearing up to squeeze out those creative juices is good. 🙂
What I’m worried about right now is the guest blog post, I have signed up for. I have no idea, what I am going to write about.
Cool choice of prompts… I read a few of them in the list. Also, one can listen to a song, one hasn’t listened to before… and take inspiration from the lyrics, the music and the rhythm to write a poem.

    1. You’ll ace the guest post, no problem. 🙂 I would write about blogging or writing or inspiration– some variation of that or one of those prompts– since YW is such an eclectic community and the only one thing they all have in common is that they write. 😀 I think even if every single guest blogger wrote something about writing– the audience would still want more, 🙂 Oh, a song! I should add that. Thanks, HA! 🙂

  2. I am going to have to save this post somewhere. I still don’t know what I’m doing, but I can handle most of those topics easily. Now, if I get rid of this chest cold and start to breathe … wheeze, cough, hack, sniffle.

    1. Awww, chest colds are the worst! I hope you feel better soon. I’m going to be putting a nano poblano badge on my sidebar– and it’ll lead to a page that links to this list, so if you ever need to access it again, that’s where it’ll be as of (probably) tomorrow. 🙂

  3. You post every-single-day? How does one sign-up for this? I need to motivation but how do you avoid writing b.s.? I could go on for hours about the taste and texture of Nerds (the candy, not the social group) but I don’t think that would help my writing flourish.

    Or would it…

    1. BlogHer.com will post about it probably by the last day of this month. (You can search BlogHer 2013 November NaBloPoMo). Or, you can go to YeahWrite.me and sign up there– they’ll email out an update when it’s time to get rollin’. Or, you can be on Team Nano Poblano! 🙂 I’ll add you blog to my list– and stop by everyday– to encourage the 30 days. 🙂

As far as quality goes, I think you get better when you write more often– especially when it’s for a short burst of time (like a month) rather than committing to a year. But ultimately only you would know if it’d be good for you or not! 🙂

  4. Oh wow, what a list! I have often thought of giving daily posting a go. I might keep thinking about it for a little while. I will have to factor in all the daily reading too… oh and PS fires still burning but moved away from my place. I’m officially back!

    Like

    1. 😀 Yay for being officially back– especially when it’s because the fires are going away! 🙂 Well, we’d love-love to have you be a Poblano, but I understand if you can’t. I was going to say that it’s not really necessary to add to your reading… since I’m the only one really committing to reading/commenting on the others’ posts… but I know that others probably will anyway, just because it’s too tempting. 😀

      1. Yes well that’s just the thing. When I see posts pop up from my favourite bloggers I just HAVE to read them. I’m going to spend all month with my face in the screen!

  5. You really aren’t kidding when you say that you like lists. I can’t even think of something that I want to write about today, let alone 77 possibilities…

    1. Oh yeah, I love lists. Many of the items on this list are other lists– so it goes, haha. 😀 Most of the time, I’ll read through a whole list like this and do something different. The blog wants what the blog wants. 😉

    1. Haha! 🙂 I just could never say the other without stumbling over the words, so yay for microscopic chilies! 🙂 We’d love to have you participate… just let me know if you can and I’ll happily add you to my little list! 🙂

      1. You know what? I’m in. The Project at work is driving me crazy, so I may not post until 2 AM but I need the distraction.

Will there be more details on which prompts will be answered when, or will we use these for the entire 70+ days of November? 😉

        1. Sweet!! Haha, it’s free-write through the month. BlogHer is sort of the biggest deal of the mix, and they post weekday prompts, which I hear are good for traffic if you do specifically even though anything goes. The link up with YeahWrite.me also has no rules– only that you’re blogging every day, and they’re just way easier to navigate than BlogHer plus they have prizes and some awesome guest posters for that month. My list is “just in case” I panic and can’t think of anything. 🙂 I won’t go in order– I’ll just grab the ones ease the panic, ha! 😀

  8. Growing up I was widgets to the goosebumps books, can we have a prompt on childhood book series and how they influence us? Spoiler alert it made me obsessed with being as cheesy as possible.

Those are some wicked prompt ideas, by the way. 🙂

    1. 😀 Well, I won’t be doing all those in a month– just as I need them. I do try to keep my posts to 1 every 19 hours or so. 😀 Thank you for the re-blog, Sahm!!

Thank you for the list!! 😀 I’m going to be copying the whole thing down and pasting it in a Word doc or something 😀
Ugh..I’m excited, anxious and a little scared! I tried doing the WP Blog a day thingie once…I think I managed like 2 months before I disappeared from the blogging world for the next 5 months..hahahahah.

Do we need to link back to your blog or something?
How do we show that we’re part of the Nano Poblano team…or something..

  12. Okay. I need to get a better grip on what I’ve signed up for. Am I supposed to be writing a BOOK???? The prompts are no problem. Short pieces are no problems. But a book? Uh … I don’t think so … unless it’s a very very short book. I really AM lost and need some guidance. Please, don’t make me feel any stupider than I already feel. I think I may have missed the central issue here. So much for the old hi IQ, eh? Not good for much. But I do need some clear non-hype information so I know what I’m supposed to do, when and HOW. I’m completely at sea. Embarrasssing, but true.

  13. So we are writing short pieces to prompts (or whatever we have on our minds) and linking them to … where? What’s the recommended word count? I can’t help it … I have a tech writing background, I need to get rid of the fuzziness and know what to do or I won’t be able to DOOOO it 🙂

  14. I wish I had known about this before I signed up for NanoWriMo, this would have been fun! I thought I would give it a try this year to see if I can get some of the stuff in my head on paper this year. BTW, I “stole” your prompts ideas. Thanks for all the wonderful prompts & good luck with your November project.

  15. Daily posting? Nope, not going to happen. I just don’t have enough people reading for that… unless the ones that are reading think I should.

#2 alone, seriously, when there was a question about the Chinese zodiac back at VOX, I picked it apart for my own results ’til everyone was probably sawing logs. The system goes not just by the year you were born, but the month, day, and hour, too, if I remember right. The Western (Greco-Roman) zodiac would be no exception– I’d list the full astrological chart with not just the sun’s position, but the moon, Mars, Venus, all that.

With 79 questions, I’d have a book with my doctoral dissertation-style responses, and bah, nope, so few seem interested enough in what I’m saying on my own space. It’d be fun for me, but I’m sure I’d bore everyone to tears.
