#howIwidow

you’ll try anyway

No one’s ever
outrun their grief,
but that doesn’t mean
you shouldn’t
stretch
your hamstrings.

You’ll try anyway, child,
even knowing
it’s never been done.

Because there was no one like
the one you lost…
… and if the Universe could hold the singularity of their existence,
then there’s still
plenty of room
for more
Impossible.

Those are very powerful words, for they speak of the intensity of emotion behind them.
I know it is a cry of pain, but there is hope hidden in there too.

Grief is the dead weight on all our chests.. some times it lifts and breathing is easier. Other times it crushes and we gasp. One day it feels like our loved one has died all over again (four years later) – as fresh as the first day. And then… the Christmas songs start and well.. then we'll just sit on the floor awhile. We'll stand back up when we can.
