poetry

what i want

A few boring years,
a few less tears.

To care for another heart.

Half the lonely nights,
Twice the hopeful lights.

An obvious place to start.

One pill to erase the past;
one to make memories last.

A way to know my mind.

A few thoughtful kisses,
a few less near-misses.

The strength to be kind.

  1. I really like this, especially the middle part, it made me think of the red and blue pills from The Matrix film.

The kind of strength that we all should want is the strength to be kind. Always ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Yep, I’d definitely like

  3. I’m loving the “just post something” tag. The poem really reminded me of the Princess Bride and I don’t know why. I haven’t seen that since I was a kid so not sure why it’s resonating with that memory within me. By the way, out of nowhere Amma said that she is going to bring m for the US tour this year. It was very unexpected. I lost my license from being out of the country for so long and I know that you don’t have one but it would be nice to see you and say hi during the LA programs or in between them if you have time.

      1. LA programs are June 8-10. I’ll have more details in a week when I get back to the ashram. We’re on a minie tour right now with programs in some near by cities. Means I don’t have my computer.

  4. “…an obvious place to start.”

These are the universal wants, expressed by every heart, in all creation. And sometimes, those wants could be right in front of us, if we would just turn around and look.
