Enough is enough,
yet I can’t help but think.
What made this bleed?
What makes that blink?

There might be a scab
underneath this scar.
Inside this planet,
there might be a star.

You left so I right.
You zag so I zig.
Enough is enough,
yet I can’t help but dig.

There might be more,
there might be better.
These tears are potent
but they could be wetter.

If the kisses are free,
why’s there a booth?
That smile’s hiding something.
It could be truth.

There might be a monster
under the lake.
Enough is enough,
give the poor horse a break.

Enough is enough,
so though I write the same song,
I still change my tune.
Is that so wrong?

  1. Enough is not you
    Enough is not me
    Enough always seems
    To be far beyond we.

    Enough is enough
    Of this need to become
    The thing so completed
    When we’ve just begun.
