plant dino

Ginny is a ficus ginseng and Rocky Bulboa is an onion. Rocky likes a shower in the morning, a plummet of cold water bath to start her day. Ginny just likes a light spritz, more of a hello than a watering.

I’ve never been a houseplant person because I’m terrified of killing plants, but these two have stuck it out with me.

It took awhile to figure out how to be roommates, but we learned.

I like a hearty plant because my days aren’t always the same. Part of brain damage recovery is recognizing that some days I am speedy and light, and some days I am clunky and full of blank spaces, and many days are somewhere in between.

I’m not still breaking, which is glorious, but I will be fixing the potholes in my mind for awhile still. Last night was rough and sleep was limited, but I woke up this morning, and showered off like my onion.

A cold rain of wake-up to start the day.

My plants like a human who is hearty.
