trust the process

Today I stretched a poem
so it would fit a screen*.
I had to let the seams,
hem the fray.
Had to tell it not to fear
the shoot, or the way it might sound
through a rifle.

I cut it into strips,
and lined those up
to ask each piece:
what else could you say?

What else would you say
if you could?

* I’m making a very very tiny film for a project, based on a poem, with the support of this awesome program: https://thejusticeartscoalition.org/juststories/ Wish me luck. 🙂
